Cooper Tire Reviews
Normally got 25K per set of tires on the Mazda 5. Already have 30K and still have half tread since I switched from Hankooks. Just bought a set last week for my PT Cruiser convertible based on great wear and handling. Great performance and value for the price.
Great tires, great price, will buy again
Used two full sets for about 30K miles each. Great cornering, handling and traction. Develop flat spots in colder temperatures.
These are the best tires I have ever had for driving through the very sudden, torrential rainstorms we have in Florida. I have put 50,000 mostly highway miles on them and just now feel like they should be replaced. I will purchase the same tires again.
I have a 95' tbird with extensive modifications to it. It's a 4.6 V8, supercharged, performance suspension with Eibach 1.6" lowering springs, as well as many other mods. I am running 17" wheels with 245/45R17 up front and 275/40R17 in the rear. Even with over 10 1/2" of rubber on the ground at each rear tire, I have traction problems. Dry roads aren't bad, but I have had better. Wet conditions are terrible, borderline unsafe. Barely touching the gas I get wheelspin. If I'm on it hard I have always spun the tires when it shifts from 1st to 2nd and from 2nd to 3rd. And it's an automatic. But it was minimal. With these tires in the rain the back end completely gets loose and the car almost gets sideways. I replaced the Vogue signature v black tires with these, and I wish i hadn't. I do not recommend these Coopers under any circumstances. They are junk/unsafe in wet or snow.
Great tire...handles the snow as good as any all season tire does. We have lots of experience with that here in Iowa. I am getting ready to replace the set I have on my car now. Got 42,000 on this tire which is rated at 40,000 with spirited driving. One of the few times I have surpassed the treadwear rating on a tire.
As far as performance tires go, these are the best on wet and snowy conditions for the price. I'm going today to get 2 new ones.
Looking forward to buying my next tires coming up soon.
Great tire! Surprisingly good in the wet, and very predictable at limits. Would definitely buy again and recommend to others!
Great tire for the price
This is my "fair weather" car. The tires are much quieter than the Michelins that were on it. Cornering traction is improved also with better feel.
Amazing tire! Great stopping power and very responsive! Highly recommended.
Great all-around performance but got nowhere close the 40K miles. Only got 27K. I understand that Mazdas are hard on tires with the negative camber, but I still expect more life from the tires with regular rotations.
These tires have excellent grip. I've gone into corners at ridiculous speeds on open roads (only when dry!), and the car just drops from 70 km/hr to 30 as I hit the brakes, takes the turn and pulls out at up to full throttle - all without a squeak! Unfortunately the tires develop flat spots overnight (like many high-speed rated tires with nylon reinforcement inside), so the car shakes a bit in the morning until the tires warm up. I notice this because I live near a highway, so I reach over 80 km/hr within 2 minutes of leaving home. The other downside is that the tires make the car feel heavier and sluggish around turns (higher steering effort), even though it can take the turns faster.
From the day these tires were put on my car I have experienced an outstanding drive and better control in dry and wet conditions. I haven't had the chance to drive in the snow yet since it is still summer but if it handles as well as it does in wet and puddle covered roads then I have no doubt that it will be great in the snow as well. I highly recommend these tires!
I've had these tires less than a month. They're downright scary. I've found that they break away in turns way too easily, and lose traction under hard acceleration at highway speeds. I won't be buying another pair. I bought these due to Consumer Reports' review... never again!
I bought these tires to replace the michelin energy savers. They are a vast improvement, I can now take a interstate interchange loop at speed with confidence. These tires gave me 50,000 miles of service with irregular rotation intervals, I just purchased a new set.
I recently replaced all 4 Factory tires I my 2014Toyota Corolla with Cooper RS3-A tires. And the improvement in wet conditions is unmistakably better. Also impressed with puncture resistance, two screws penetrated the outer layer it the tire and it didn't harm the tire whatsoever.
I recently went to my local junkyard looking for cheap drift tires for my 240sx and they just happened to have 4 rs3a's with 99% tread. I have them on the rear only and still running the first pair. Very quiet on the highway, good grip when you want traction, very predictable when you don't want traction. Almost no chunking due to heat when drifting. Treadwear is ok, the tire is fairly soft, but this is to be expected with such a sticky tire. Overall great daily tire, grippy drift tire.
I have a 2012 Dodge Challenger R/T I replaced my Firestone tires at 22,000 miles with the Cooper Zeon rs3-a. The ride, grip and performance all improved dramatically. I have driven in rain and snow as well. The rain and snow traction are very good. These are Far superior to the Firestones. At about 25,000 miles I clipped a curb and a 1/4 inch chunk ripped out of the sidewall. I thought that tire was done. I brought them to get inspected and tire installer said they are fine. That tire Never failed me. I have put over 45,000 miles on these Coopers! I will Definitely be purchasing these again!!!
Good oem tires but only lasted 13,645 miles in 5 & a half years old and dry rotted wet traction on the rain and snow was bad towards the end of the tires still had plenty of tread on 3 of them
I bought Zeon RS3-A tires for the rear of my Mercedes CLK 350 in mid-April 2016. My dealer just looked at my tires today and said they would have to be replaced soon because there is almost no tread remaining. I've driven 17,166 miles - 90% interstate highway miles to/from work. I'm very disappointed at the tread life. I won't buy these tires again.
I got a set for my 2015 Impala LTZ....very smooth and super quiet tire.Hugs the road so nicely, just superb. Car came with Firestones...this a much better built tire...highly recommend !
* These have got to be the smoothest and quietest tire I have ever bought. * They just feel smooth when i drove away! * I then waited until I could try them in the rain before I wrote a review. still great. * My OEM tire would slip in rain...(Michelin saver.) so far 2500 miles.
Installed these tires on an 89 Corvette, on my first road trip I experienced heavy rain, these tires felt like I was on dry pavement. Dry traction is super and the handling is superb. I will purchase a set for my Volvo XC70 in the near future.
Driving a RWD sports car definitely has its benefits, but it can take some effort to control on occasion in certain circumstances. After buying a full set of these, I can't even oversteer when I try to in the rain. Awesome all season tires. They grip incredibly well. I use these as my daily tires, as well as my track day tires. And when I want to slide around, I'll leave these on the front and put some $20 tires on the rear, without having understeer problems in the front while controlling a slide or transitioning. Highly recommend these tires! I'm currently running 235/45r17 on stock wheels on my '15 FR-S.
